In order to maintain the
best health possible, physicians advise people to eat particular foods
in particular proportions. The reason for this is that they are aware
of what each food substance is capable of because research has revealed
a great deal. However, in addition research unveiling a great deal one
might assert that the merits of food substances in general have been
known for quite some time. Several years have passed since the common
man got to know about what particular functions food substances had.
Hence there are several people who do not consult a doctor or any
professional when they have wanted to alter their diet. However, there
are several individuals who are unaware of the basics of food
substances and what each of their functions is.
Few of the things that the human body need include Carbohydrates,
Fats, Proteins, and Minerals. With these basics, human body function is
maintained as it should be. However, it must be realized that these
substances need to be consumed in appropriate quantity. Certainly,
quantity does matter here because if any of these substances are out of
proportion abnormalities may result.
Since the basic food substances that one need to know about
includes, Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, and Minerals, it must also be
asserted that all these basic food substances are required to carry out
every important function in the body. Carbohydrates are necessary for
energy. They break down into simpler substances like sugars that can
eventually be burned inside the body to produce energy. These sugars
for energy production the body are essential for human beings because
of the fact that they carry out functions that enhance body
performance. For instance, it has been discovered that lack of
carbohydrates prevents the mind from performing at its maximum. When
one consumes an adequate amount of carbohydrates it helps the brain to
function properly and mental processes are enhanced. This is the reason
why it is now suggested that it is important for children and adults
both to have breakfast that is rich in carbohydrates. At the beginning
of the day, this is essential because the body has rested through the
night and most of the carbohydrates present in the body are burned
away. In the morning therefore it is essential for one to consume a
good amount of it. It also must be noted that carbohydrates do not get
stored up in the body in the manner that Proteins and Fats do. The
maximum content of carbohydrates that can be stored up in the body is
100 grams, and this is in the form of glycogen in the liver. Hence, one
has to make sure that s/he replaces the deplete amount of carbohydrate
regularly. In addition to carbohydrates required for normal living.
Proteins are essential as well. Proteins are basically body building
substances. One's strength is dependent on this substance, and
functions such as mobility also require it. In addition to the
importance of proteins in the body, fats are also important. They serve
as a form of energy as well and help one keep warm.
Though these three main food substances have important functions in
the human body, they are not the only ones and may not be able to
operate efficiently without the help of substances that enhance their
performance. The substances that are known to improve performance in
the human body include minerals also known as vitamins because of the
two words: vital and minerals. It is these substances that allow a
person to maintain good health and prevent them from getting diseases.
Though many assume that adequate amount of carbohydrates, fats and
proteins are sufficient to prevent from turning ill, it is these vital
minerals that help one to remain strong and healthy too. Hence, one's
diet should consist of a significant amount of these minerals in order
to maintain good health.
